2. Reflection on Matthew 12:1 - 8

You may want to consider that there were people suggesting that there were laws that would seem to justify letting people go hungry. Do we have any modern equivalents?

In 2003 The Province of Alberta Public Health division passed a law that prohibits food being served to the public that has not been prepared in a commercial kitchen. This has seriously affected volunteers who donate food to the Soup Kitchens around Alberta. I volunteer at our local Friendship Centre providing supper to the homeless. Our group was told we could no longer cook food at our homes and bring it in crockpots as our kitchens were not certified commercial kitchens. I am not even allowed to make a sandwich and give it away. These people eat from dumpsters! Do these bureaucrats ever consider the family pot-luck suppers? As far as I know there has never been an incident. Perhaps I should throw the sandwiches in the dumpsters.

What looks good on paper, is not what is necessarily good in practice. wink

I'm sure whoever thought that one up was looking to move up the corporate ladder.  Although, nowadays everyone is ridiculously liable for everything they do... thankfully its not like the US here in terms of the amount of lawsuits, but I'm sure we're not too far behind. mixed

Let's smile and keep serving no matter what obstacle is thrown our way!  (Love conquers all evil).

Peace and Blessings,

Niki
